Character Name: Starscream
Series: Transformers G1 (Dreamwave Comics)
Age: Roughly 12 million
From When?: Issue #10 right after Megatron shoots a hole through his body.

Inmate Justification: Starscream is an egotistical bully who's done a lot of terrible things. He enjoys being a bad guy and causing destruction, but he wasn't always this way. He was always self-centered and an asshole but he didn't go about killing people or anything even closely related until after joining up with Megatron. With that said he's not beyond working with others, such as good-guy type characters. Usually he hopes to manipulate them for his own goals. He actually does have something of a conscience buried underneath everything and has cared about at least one person other than himself in the past. He just needs to put aside his delusions of grandeur and need to be in charge of everything.

Arrival: Against his will.

Abilities/Powers:
Starscream is roughly 28 feet tall, which gives him a significant level of strength compared to normal organic humans. However compared to another Cybertronian he's about average in size in size and strength. He is skilled in fighting though which makes up for his lack of brute strength. Cybertornians from his universe have an internal regeneration circuitry system, which is similar to the healing process in humans. He can recover from almost any sort of injury given enough time and energy (which like humans enough time + energy is usually a problem in a war). His body is also composed of ambient absorption circuits, which means he can recharge by being around compatible energy without consuming it or he can take an energon bath and get robo-drunk. I imagine for the barge knocking him down to average human size would take care of any strength differences. He's not exceptionally strong compared to others of his own species so sized own he'd be mostly normal strength compared to a human. Other than the being made out of metal part -- which makes him tougher like skin but he can still be cut by a sword or generally beat up.

Transformation - He transforms into an F-15 Eagle fighter jet. In this mode he can reach at least Mach 2.8 in speed and can break through the atmosphere of most planets given enough time. He is considered one of the fastest fliers in the Decepticon army, though his speeds can sometimes undermine his gyro-sensors and leave him disoriented. This mainly happens in cases of doing extreme nose dives. If he does keep this, I picture a tiny jet which would reduce everything down including speed, etc.

Null Ray - The Null Ray is Starscream's primary weapon. It is delivered through cannons attached to the sides of his arms. The blast can affect the flow of electricity in any mechanical system, though it works the best on other Cybertronians. It incapacitates a mech's ability to process power and basically shuts down their mind. These effects are usually non-fatal and last roughly two minutes before a mech or device will start to recover. However, the null ray can cause permanent damage if used at a high level of power or by extended blasts. TLDR; While it normally isn't used to kill anyone it can be that way if needed. These can be fully removed with no effects at all to him other than possible complaining.

Aberrant Spark - For unknown reasons Starscream's spark is not like most. It is virtually indestructible and cannot be extinguished through most known means (you can cut into it, try and crush it, etc). His body can still be destroyed, however and it is still possible to inflict serious pain on his body and spark. It just won't ever go out. Without a body, he is able to possess other living life forms (organic or mechanical) and in most cases take control (though it depends on the will of the person he's trying to possess.) Starscream has no idea about any of this.

Inmate Information: Starscream is an extremely arrogant, jealous, egotistical and overly ambitious person. He does not get along well with others and holds himself above everyone else.

At the start of the war he turned rather brutal for awhile, killing and being attributed to a lot of atrocities those who knew him before the war would have never thought him capable of. After millions of years into the war, he mellowed out a bit from his erratic and reckless and overly cruel behavior. He does not really kill pointlessly and without reason. He wouldn't murder all life on Earth or destroy the planet because he wouldn't see the point in doing so. He's still cruel and won't hesitate to kill anyone, he just doesn't see the point in sacrificing everyone in a city to kill one person anymore.

Long before the war ever started he was a scientist and explorer who worked along side a fellow scientist named Jetfire. The two of them were very good friends to a point that Jetfire actually joined the Decepticons along with Starscream despite not fully believing in them. He eventually switched sides, Starscream viewing this as an ultimate betrayal.

When he joined with Megatron he was part of his original inner circle, that means he's very high in rank. A lot of times when Megatron isn't around control of the army defaults to him. However even with that Starscream has tried to murder Megatron countless times and speaks against him even more. He's pretty famous for this. Starscream though not viewing himself as anything even remotely similar to a good guy does not agree with his leader's methods.

A few times he was very, very close to killing Megatron, but later almost ended up close to death as a result of his traitorous nature. He's kept around and in his position because he's extremely effective at killing and leading assaults when needed. Starscream knows this and is rather arrogant and open in his dislike.

There was a point in the past where Megatron literally tortured him after Starscream tried to destroy an entire city in order to kill both him and Optimus Prime. This fuels his hate and general belief that the Decepticon leader is insane. Despite this he still stays a Decepticon because he enjoys the freedom. He doesn't have to think about consequences and can do whatever he pleases to anyone. He just thinks he should be the one calling the shots instead.

He's also a victim of experimentation but to what degree is uncertain. A clone was created of him (calling himself Sunstorm) who believes he is an oracle to a higher power (Primus who is basically 'God') and that Starscream is also part of this prophecy to save the world. Starscream does not believe in any of that stuff even when it's practically shoved in his face. He calls everyone crazy for it. But he still realizes something is going to happen in the future and he does not want all of the Decepticons to die as a result. (Because who would he lead then?)

One of the major life changing events that happened before arriving on the barge is during the point when Sunstorm was chasing him around Earth like a stalker, Starscream revived his old partner Jetfire to save him. He ended up working with the Autobots against Sunstorm who was pretty much indestructible. Starscream eventually betrays the Autobots and meets with Sunstorm with the intention of double crossing him as well. He almost succeeds but Sunstorm practically goes into a nuclear meltdown. Jetfire sacrifices himself to save the planet. Starscream saves an autobot on behalf of Jetfire and is left feeling very confused about his own feelings over everything. He eventually decides he just wants to forget it all happened and let it go back to status quo.

And then later Megatron shows back up after one of Starscream's failed assassination attempts and shoots (well Soundwave uses Megatron who is in gun form) a giant hole through Starscream.

He is also highly arrogant about his own abilities and overestimates himself most of the time causing him to sometimes fail. His failures do little to deter him, as surely doing it a second time will result in success. He's not only stubborn but extremely persistent.

Which is ironic in a way since he has little to no patience for anything else. He does not like waiting for anything. If he wants something, he wants it now, not tomorrow, not the next day, now. But at the same time he has learned to wait for opportunities to reveal themselves. Even though he backtalks a lot, makes endless taunts, he will not openly and directly challenge anyone he knows is more powerful than him. Some use this to refer to him as a coward. He prefers to see himself as an opportunist instead.

As highly as Starscream thinks of himself, he actually is not completely vain. He doesn't like pain, or getting damaged in battle, but in war it happens. Besides, he also believes he looks better than everyone else no matter what anyway. He is shallow about other people's looks and will tell someone if he thinks they are ugly.

One trait that most of the Decepticon army would probably point out that he has is: Starscream loves to hear himself talk. Sometimes he will not shut up. He'll go on about how he should be leader or how Megatron comes up with stupid plans or just how Megatron himself is stupid. Above all else, Starscream is a chronic complainer.

And he goes out of his way to be annoying. If Starscream discovers something that bothers another person, he will pick at it and push every button he can until the other person snaps. He's highly sarcastic and makes comments about everything.

He might even be a little over dramatic about life as well.

Path to Redemption: Starscream needs to stop being such an egotistical bully who needs to be in charge of everything. He needs to realize that he's most likely very scarred from everything Megatron put him through and that it's not worth it being a "bad guy." He won't be happy being ruler of everything, and that there's more to life than wearing a crown while people worship you.

He likes science, and challenges. He needs to remember those are things he enjoyed doing. That he had a very good friend who was willing to save his life multiple times despite all the horrible things he's done. That he, himself, was willing to put aside his own beliefs and save a member of the enemy for this person.

He'll always be a jerk, he just needs to learn that he can be regular average person, achieve other goals and have that be okay.

He probably won't believe the barge is real at first, but after awhile he'll resort to scheming to try and take it over. Because that's what he does. When that doesn't work, he'll just put up with it while still looking for opportunities to take advantage of.

And he'll make commentary about everything.

He doesn't like taking orders from others, so anyone who tries to just boss him around might get a lot of resistance. He can be reluctantly influenced by others (Jetfire balanced out his arrogant personality with a calm and patient one). But someone who acts too authoritative might not do too well with him. This also goes for anyone who might be offended by his sarcasm, constant complaining, or his attempts to be annoying.

Someone who doesn't get offended easily or who can match his sarcasm will probably do well with him. He likes banter and will get along with people who can match him.
